Results form April 2008 survey of Engineering Drawing & Design students.

 
18% are female
57% are Magnet students
47% selected Engineering as their career choice
30% selected Architecture as their career choice
23% selected Other as their career choice
50% of the female students selected Architecture as their career choice
61% find that completing a paper drawing at the beginning of new topic is helpful
93% believe that the content and materials covered in class met their expectations
87% indicated that material learned in Drafting have helped them in a Math class.
33% indicated that material learned in Drafting have helped them in extra-curricular activities.
49% indicated that materials learned in Drafting have helped them with projects outside of school.
63% strongly agree that the assignments are challenging but enjoyable.
47% strongly agree that the assignments are “real-world” type projects.
50% of the students who have taken 3 or more drafting classes believe that the content of the classes has greatly improved in the last 2 years.
63% believe that the Wildcat Drafting website is extremely helpful in the class.

CEISMC


The Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics, and Computing (CEISMC) (pronounced like "seismic") is a partnership uniting the Georgia Institute of Technology with many other educational groups, schools, corporations, and opinion leaders throughout the state of Georgia, toward one common goal: to ensure that K-12 students in Georgia receive the best possible preparation in science, mathematics, and technology as they seek their place in the modern world.

2008 Engineering Academy

June 1 - June 6, 2008 @ Georgia Tech

Students in 8th - 11th grades are invited to a weeklong Engineering Program sponsored in conjunction with the Georgia Engineering Foundation and the Exploring Program B.S.A.

This program will provide students with hands-on experience in the field of Engineering.  Students will get the opportunity to tour research facilities, interact with Engineers and enhance necessary skills such as project management, problem solving, analysis and team building.
